Pansiya Panas Jathaka Potha – Buddhist Ancient Story Book

“The Pansiya Panas Jathaka Potha” is the most populer and respectable Buddhist story book in Sri Lanka which was written in the Ancient  period of Kurunagala. The book was based on a Pali book named “Pali Jatha Katha” This book is well famous in both local and foreign Buddhist society. The content of this book guided people to understand the value of a proper life and directed them to a successful and a correct path. Also it explained the Co-immorals of the society with 547 meaningful stories. The was used from the common people to well educated society in the past. The chanting techniques of this book is so unique in Sri Lanka, because of lack of protected communication methods to the modern generation , we have been loosing the traditional chanting styles.  Therefore through his research Ven Bibiladeniye Mahanama thero has identified the traditional chanting style of Jathaka Katha and  self -inflicted contribution to conserved this with a total number of 547 stories as a digital audio format with a record keeping about 513 hours with a participation of more than 100 Buddhist monks.
